Our studio
On next-generation synthetic ice, in our figure skating studio in Geneva. See the next question for the technology in detail.
It's a surface made of high-density polymer panels, seamlessly assembled, designed to welcome real metal-bladed skates. Infused with a self-lubricating agent, it faithfully reproduces the glide of traditional ice, without cold, without water, without mechanical refrigeration. Ours is the first of its kind in French-speaking Switzerland.
The glide is the same. The only real difference lies in the absence of humidity and cold: the surface is dry and temperate, and you skate in any season with a rare sense of comfort.
Yes. You glide, you turn, you launch yourself just as on real ice. The full vocabulary of skating finds expression here. That is precisely why professional skaters now commonly train on this kind of surface.
Yes, fully. The glide is clean, continuous, natural. Exactly what one expects from a rink.
Absolutely. The surface welcomes figure skating blades beautifully and allows for the full technical and expressive vocabulary of the discipline. That is precisely why we chose it.
The blade wears slightly faster than on natural ice and requires marginally more frequent sharpening. We look after the skates we lend, and if you have your own, we'll guide you on their upkeep.
Because it allows skating all year round, in an intimate setting, free from the energy demands of a conventional rink. It is a gentler choice for the planet, and the foundation of a premium, personalised setting, sheltered from the bustle of large public rinks.
No continuous refrigeration, no water consumption to form the ice, no emissions tied to the cold chain. Our studio consumes a fraction of the energy of a conventional one. A choice in keeping with our times.
Yes, exactly the same. Whether ours or yours, your usual ice skates are perfectly suited.
Our rink is installed indoors, sheltered from the weather and from prying eyes, in a place designed for the elegance of the experience.
Yes. It is cleaned and polished regularly to preserve its optimal glide. You always skate on a well-kept surface, as it should be.
The surface is as firm as ice, but it stays dry. You never come away wet from a fall. We guide you step by step so that learning remains safe and graceful.

Lessons and experience
Not at all. Our lessons welcome every level, from the very first step to the pursuit of seasoned elegance. Each session is built entirely around you.
From adolescence onwards, with no upper age limit. Our skates start at size 37, which usually corresponds to this threshold. Figure skating is a discipline to be savoured at every stage of life.
Yes, and they make up a large part of our clientele. Many of our students discover or rediscover skating in adulthood, often with a joy deeper than in childhood.
Of course. Skate Connect is for anyone, women, men, teenagers, who wishes to discover the art of skating. Our world is refined, not gendered.
We begin with a conversation to understand your wishes, your level, any apprehensions you may have. Then comes the equipment, followed by your first steps on the ice in a gentle, personalised progression. One hour to lay the foundations, feel your first glides, and above all, to take pleasure in it.
Our packages are built around one-hour sessions. An ideal format to progress without tiring and to fully immerse yourself in the experience.
Access to the rink, the coach's guidance, and the skates if you don't have any. You simply come in comfortable clothing, with the desire to try.
We offer skates from size 37 to 41. If your size falls outside this range, we invite you to bring your own. Write to us before booking so that we can talk it through.
Something flexible that doesn't restrict movement: leggings, fitted joggers, a fine jumper or a light sweatshirt. Avoid loose clothing. High, thin socks are recommended for comfort inside the skates.
A bottle of water, high socks and, if you wish, a change of clothes. Everything else is provided on site.
It is recommended, especially for beginners, to protect your hands should they touch the surface. A simple pair of thin gloves is enough.
Yes, our Duo Experience is designed precisely for this. The coach adapts the exercises to each of you, honouring everyone's pace, so the lesson remains harmonious for both.
Of course. The Duo Experience is for any pair, romantic, familial, or between friends, who wish to share a singular moment on the ice.
It is, in fact, our flagship offering. The Private Experience is designed as an intimate pause, a time for oneself, entirely devoted to your progress and your grace.
We have chosen private lessons, individual or duo, to ensure a quality of attention and personalisation that group lessons cannot offer.
The Private Experience is an individual lesson devoted to discovering or refining skating. The Art of Suppleness focuses on posture, flexibility and grace, the foundations of figure skating, through stretching work. The Duo Experience lets you share the experience as a pair.
Progress depends on each person, on regularity and natural ease. In private lessons, progress is noticeably swifter than in groups: you have undivided attention and immediate feedback on every movement.
A single lesson is enough to discover the sensations and lay down the very first movements. To embed technique and grace lastingly, regular practice, a few lessons a month, yields visible and satisfying progress.

Skate Connect
Morgane is the founder of Skate Connect, a former skater, devoted to passing on her craft and to the idea that figure skating can be a profoundly intimate and refined experience. She is the one who welcomes you, listens to you and guides you.
Because it is, above all, about connection, to oneself, to the body, to the glide, to the music. Our ambition is to reveal a grace already present in everyone, and to create a lasting bond with this art.
Skate Connect was born of the desire to bring figure skating to life differently in French-speaking Switzerland, in an intimate, considered setting, sheltered from the bustle of public rinks. The project continues to grow, at its own pace.
Yes, with no seasonal break. The nature of the studio makes seasonality irrelevant. We welcome you in the depths of winter just as in August.
No. Our aesthetic universe is refined and delicate, yet it is open to anyone wishing to discover figure skating. Men, women, teenagers, all are welcome.
Yes, and it is one of the loveliest gifts to give. Write to us at support@skateconnect.ch to arrange a bespoke experience for the person of your choice.
Special formats, themed workshops, gatherings around skating, are currently in development. Follow @skate.connect on Instagram to be informed of the first dates.
Elegance, grace, kindness, excellence, inclusion. We believe figure skating is an art open to all, and that refinement lies in the attention given to each person, never in exclusion.

Figure skating
Leisure skating is a recreational activity, with no particular pursuit of technique or expression. Figure skating is a discipline that weaves glide with grace, music and bodily expression. A true dance on ice.
It develops balance, posture, suppleness, coordination and self-confidence. It is also a gentle cardiovascular activity that soothes the mind, and a wonderful way to reconnect with one's body.
Not at all. Suppleness comes with practice, it is not a prerequisite. Our Art of Suppleness package is in fact designed to cultivate it gently, at your own pace.
An average level of fitness is more than enough to begin. Skating is a complete yet gentle activity, suited to every body and every pace.
Like any physical activity, it involves a learning curve where falls sometimes happen. Our small-format lessons and personalised guidance make progress safe. Falls on synthetic ice are, moreover, always dry, never wet.
Each situation is unique, and only your doctor can advise you. We invite you to discuss it with us so that, if needed, we can adapt the package to your comfort.
Yes, it is, in fact, an elegant choice. Posture work, natural core engagement, stimulation of balance: figure skating engages the whole body, with a gentleness few activities can match.
It depends on the injury and how long ago it was. Speak with your doctor, then let's talk together to design a package suited to and respectful of your body.
Yes, absolutely. There is something deeply restorative in allowing yourself a new discipline, artistic and demanding. Many tell us that their first lesson remains one of their loveliest recent memories.
